Samsung Galaxy S III Mini is a cheaper version of Samsung's flagship phone, Galaxy S3. The phone supports GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 2G networks and HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100 3G networks. It has the dimensions 121.6 x 63 x 9.9 mm and weighs 111.5g. It is very compact and looks attractive just like the other phones in the S series.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini comes with a 4.0 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels and 233 ppi pixel density. Below the display, you can find three buttons - touch sensitive Menu and Back buttons and a normal Home button. The display supports upto 16 million colors and multi-touch. The handset has a primary camera of 5 megapixel with LED flash which allows you to click photos upto a maximum resolution of 2592x1944 pixels and record high definition videos of 720 pixels at 30 fps. A secondary VGA camera is also provided for video conferencing. The camera offers a wide range of features like geo-tagging, autofocus, touch focus, face detection, multiple modes and much more. Users can also edit their photos or videos directly on the phone itself using the inbuilt image/video editor.

The Mini runs on a NovaThor U8420 chipset and is powered by a 1 GHZ dual-core Cortex-A9 processor. It features Google's latest Android operating system version 4.0 (Jelly Bean) and uses Samsung's TouchWiz interface. The handset performs exceedingly well and handles heavy tasks without any difficulties. Samsung Galaxy S3 comes pre-loaded with many applications. There is a music player which features sound-enhancing SoundAlive technology. You can play almost all popular music file formats. Other features include equalizer, 7.1 channel virtualization, album art, playlists and Music square which automatically creates playlists based on your mood. A video player is also provided which supports MP4/DivX/XviD/WMV file formats.

Both the apps are DLNA-enabled which means you can play songs or videos which are stored on any Wi-Fi connected devices. Users can also listen to FM radio. Other apps which are pre-installed on the phone include Google Maps, Google Search, YouTube, Picasa, Google Talk, Google Calendar, document viewer, organizer, calculator, alarm clock and much more. Ofcourse, you also have access to Google play from where you can choose and download from a collection of thousands of apps. Popular social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus are directly integrated into the phone's interface. You can import your contacts, upload and access photos, update your status and much more without having to install any apps. Users can also access the internet using the inbuilt web browser.
